The new Distractions are:

Mike Finney (vocals)

Alex Sidebottom (drums and percussion)

Chris Dutton (guitar and vocals)

Graham Battersby (guitar and vocals)

Joe Brehony (bass and vocals)

Joe and Chris have played in many leading Manchester bands such as:

Kill Pretty, Blue Orchids and The Things.

We started up again primarily for the buzz and joy of doing live gigs again and playing our classic songs. Since reforming the band has gone from strength to strength, and to the band's delight, has attracted a new generation of fans who never knew the band first time round.

The new version of the band has been doing headline gigs since the start of 2017. In January and September 2018 they did two sell out gigs at the Dublin Castle in London to excellent reviews.

They have also supported bands such as The Flamin’ Groovies, Monochrome Set, Vic Goddard and Penetration. They also supported the Steve Diggle led Buzzcocks in December 2019 with whom they shared a rehearsal space back in the day!

The new line-up of the Distractions is steeped in the Manchester musical tradition and is attracting a new generation of fans who appreciate classic songs and storming live sets!

The name "New" Distractions is to avoid any confusion with the line-up and label that produced two excellent albums in 2012 and 2017
