Afterlands + Jill Lorean
Entry Requirements: Over 18s only
Born as a way of staving off madness during lockdown and patiently nurtured into one of the most exciting projects either of its architects have turned their hands to, Afterlands is Rick Anthony (The Phantom Band / Rick Redbeard) and David McAulay (Strike the Colours). Featuring a litany of esteemed guest performers from across the Scottish music scene, Afterlands’ spellbinding debut album We Are The Animals In The Night was released through the legendary Lost Map label in 2024. Afterlands will play a full band set along with Joe Smillie (Modern Studies) on drums and Jill O'Sullivan (violin, vocals).
Jill Lorean is the nom de guerre of songwriter Jill O'Sullivan (Sparrow And The Workshop, Three Queens in Mourning) a Glasgow-based musician who incorporates elements of many genres from garage and folk-rock to post-punk and experimental rock in her work. Working alongside musician and producer Andy Monaghan (Frightened Rabbit) and drummer Peter Kelly, Jill muses on the profound, the mundane, the universe, impending doom and everything in-between over frenetic, hypnotic drum beats and playful, subversive bass and guitar lines. For her Afterlands shows Jill will be doing solo interpretations of her repertoire.
