Already being hailed as the best young rocking blues band in the UK, The Blue Horizon is a trio based in Weston-super-Mare playing throughout the UK. Fronted by gifted guitarist and vocalist Iain Eccleston, with Ed Gerlach on bass and Josh Armitage on drums, The Blue Horizon play electrifying blues rock, with brilliant guitar licks, rugged vocals, dynamic percussion and driving bass. They have been booked for festivals all over the UK this summer and were recently selected to support South African blues sensation Dan Patlansky on the Bristol leg of his UK tour. A typical set includes a few top-notch covers of artists such as Cream, Rory Gallagher and Peter Green plus classic blues artists like Freddie King & Elmore James, as well as some understated originals, some of which feature on their new release ‘ Tattoos, Tissues and Elevator Music’ & some on their much anticipated full studio album. Their original material takes the style of some of the afore-mentioned artists & adds a modern twist, drawing comparisons with acts such as The Black Keys, The White Stripes and Seasick Steve. The Blue Horizon bring a good energy to both the classic songs that they cover & to their original material, giving a good time, party feel to performances, whilst their improvisations often take well known tunes into new territories, often putting in funk & jazz influences and always leave devout music fans satisfied. The future is looking bright for The Blue Horizon, with their summer festivals and with support slots already lined up with Red Butler, The Della Grants, Stark, Paul Lamb & legendary rockers The Pretty Things.

Here’s a short review from a recent festival they played: "Another band who I felt more than deserved a later spot was The Blue Horizon, these boys had come down the coast from Weston-Super-Mare, technically brilliant, great vocals, with an all killer no filler set of up tempo rocking blues. I will definitely be checking their gig diary" http://www.ukfestivalguides.com/review/watchet-live-2015
