We are Slumber Sonic from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A group of friends who got together to play music.
Our music is a reminiscence of the 90s, the period when we grew up. Most of us had our own bands during our younger days and we trust the experience has taught us a lot about being in a band, performing together as well as writing and recording music.
Iswardy (vocals/lead guitars) started to write songs when he was 14 years old. He founded a grunge band called Dumbme with his brother. They managed to release a demo EP cassette entitled Imperfect in 1996 while still in college.
Azwad (vocals/guitars) was in a band called Sunday Workers and their releases are available from major streaming platforms since 2015. Iswardy was also a band member when they recorded their first single, “Could It Be” in 2009. They both met each other in college in 1995.
Shahril (drums) was in a British band called Iltizam back in his Brighton days in 1998 where they released a 3 songs EP. The band changed its name to The Gatecrashers after Shahril left the band. Prior to that, between 1995 to 1997, Shahril was in a 3 piece band called The Colourful Gays where they played punk rock. Besides that, he was also in 2 other project bands called Mr. Martin and Mojo Tube.
Herman (bass) who met Shahril in Brighton, has been playing guitar since high school and recently switched to bass. He wrote and performed the theme song, "Break Free" for Shahril's YouTube channel, El Hefe TV.
By combining each other's experiences, we all together had written many great songs that could bring our band forward to the masses.
On 17 February 2020, we released our first single, Sand Of Time on streaming platforms.
