Frequently Asked Questions...
Here are some of the things we get asked a lot - see if your question is included, or ask us again - we don't mind!
Can I have a look at your repertoire?
Sure! We’re constantly adding to our rep, but you can find an example setlist here.
Can I choose which songs you play?
Once you’re booked in, we will work with you to put together the set. We have a huge variety of material to work with, and are happy to highlight any favourites and make sure they’re in.
Can I request songs that aren’t on your list?
Of course! We do need a little extra time to arrange any requests into our own signature style, but all is possible. Our personal arrangements have created some very special moments in the past, and we love finding new music!
What if my timings change after I’ve booked you?
We know things sometimes have to change - and we want to do our very best to accommodate any unexpected changes that might occur - but we do need a little notice in such cases.
Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?
Yes, we can have background music playing through our PA that we use between our sets.
How much time do you need to set up?
We would ideally like access to the area we'll be playing in at least an hour before you would like us to start. This gives us time to get everything ready and deal with any last minute requests or alterations.
Can you roam around while you perform?
No, our performance works best from one fixed position
Will I get the same line-up I see here?
Unless we have discussed and agreed changes, it’ll certainly be Amy K, Amy B and Becky - these three exceptional musicians whom you’ve met on this website. If for any reason one of us is forced to withdraw, then we will contact you immediately and arrange for a dep of equal talent from our wide network of musicians. It’s never happened yet!
Can we use the PA for our speeches/dancefloor playlist/karaoke?
Although we would love to hear your Best Man’s speech, or Uncle Dave’s rendition of “That Don’t Impress Me Much”, we aren’t insured to let guests use the equipment. If you would like, we can give you the numbers of some fantastic DJs we know who specialise in interactive hire!
Who are your main influences?
Our first loves are the great Jazz singers, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone etc - we love anything from the great American Songbook. But we also love pop music right through the ages to present day - and we get our kicks from doing mashups of classic songs with current hits - as we’ve said before, it’s anything from Billie Holiday to Billie Eilish!
How much do you charge?
We’d love to be able to give you a simple answer to that question, because we know how much budgeting and research goes into even the tiniest things on your big day - it can be truly exhausting. But every single wedding is different, and requires bespoke tailoring to provide you the standard of luxury that we are obsessed with delivering.
For us, it's about much more than just turning up and playing. We put detailed thought into everything, from our customer experience, to the tiniest details of our musical arrangements and delivery, to our clothes, our makeup, our setup, how we relate to each and every one of your guests, your venue hosts on the day, and you, the stars of the show!
While we do cater to the more luxury end of the industry, we really encourage you to fill out our form here and see what we might be able to achieve together:
Tell us a bit about your careers!
As individuals, we have all performed across the UK and abroad from big mainstream festivals to concert halls across a variety of genres.
Amy Kakoura has a background in musical theatre - she went to a top London drama school and has performed on the West End and beyond, and now writes and performs for a huge variety of musical projects from folk, to jazz, to classical, pop, gospel and theatre.
Amy Bowles hails from the Royal Northern College of Music, and has over twenty years experience performing both as a soloist and within guitar ensembles around the world, in addition to global festivals. A huge part of her musical world centres around community music - enabling rare and remarkable musical experiences for all people within their cultural and medical circumstances.
Becky Eden Green has travelled the world with some amazing jazz, folk and soul bands, as well as a great solo career in dance and pop music - and she's built up an incredible portfolio of projects over fifteen years of experience in the industry. Becky also runs her own Music in Healthcare service, attending hospitals and other medical units to provide engaging musical experiences for all.
As for us as a band - we played together a few years ago as a favour to a mutual friend, and just knew we had to carry on making music together - we have been doing so ever since. This band truly is a labour of love.
Where are you based?
Where aren’t we based! We come together most often in Sheffield or Manchester, but we all travel so much that we have bases in the Midlands and London too. We are willing to travel!
Is all of the equipment included in your quote?
We provide PA, which is included in the price, and we will work with your venue to ensure that all powerpoints etc are accessible - no surprises on the day!
Are you insured?
Absolutely. Each member of the band has their own personal liability insurance, and our equipment is PAT tested regularly.
