Portobello Live returns to a rescheduled date of September 25th with its familiar offering of music, cabaret, spoken word, performance and art presented in a redesigned, stream- lined format.
We’re keeping the party in one place this year, transforming Maxilla Social Club into a pleasure dome of music, poetry and dancing, indoors and out, as we celebrate a return to freedom and a light shining at the end of the tunnel. We’ll be practicing whatever guidelines apply at the time, keeping attendees, performers and staff safe while providing a much-needed local party to catch up with friends old and new.
A percentage of each ticket sold will go to Justice4Grenfell 💚
“Concentrating the festival in one venue this year will help us to do this properly, ensuring our guests can party safely and happily,” says Portobello Live! promoter, Micky P. “We’ve put together an amazing and varied lineup for our indoor and outdoor stages as we celebrate the return of live entertainment, which has been so greatly missed. The new, later dates will hopefully ensure some warm summer weather and sunshine to bask in as we come together to celebrate our wealth of local talent.”f
A stunning lineup of new bands and performers, rock royalty and special guests will play out on Saturday 25th September. As in previous years, Portobello Live! will focus on accessibility and inclusivity, with one affordable wristband allowing come-and-go entry to the main festival site at Maxillas. Under-16s go free.
Aimed at promoting West London’s rich and diverse artistic heritage, the festival provides a deserved platform for the area’s past and present music and cultural history.
Guests on the Main Stage include Glen Matlock, Don Letts, The Launchers, Loretta Heywood & Five Shades of Music, Adam Masterson, Kuki and the Bard, JC (The Members), Neville Hyde’s 40-Something Disco, Richard Strange, Tizane, the Portobello Live Choir and more.
Ray “Roughler” Jones will host the Roughler Club Acoustic and Spoken Word Stage with the wonderful Sarah Vista, Gina Birch (The Raincoats), John McGlone, Philip Rambow and surprise star guests while a whole host of talent will appear on the Loco Acoustic and Cabaret Stage including Heavy Lounge, Melan- chodelia, Anke Landeau, The Lost Souls, Kosmic Troubadour, James Simmins, Flo Perlin, the Portobello Pirates and more.
