Their first long player transmits a sense of possibility and hope, maybe emphasised after the tough and confusing times of the last few years. It also embodies a sense of reflection. What we've been and what we can be.

There's also a sense of pure joy in St Cyrus' music, throughout all the words, melodies, harmonies and the way in which it is presented. The cover artwork is a photograph taken by Jamie Allen about 11 years ago, on film, down in Cardiff Bay. What can be more pure than the smile of a child? Untarnished by responsibilities and unweathered by experience, a future of endless chances. Malleable to change. In times when we as adults have struggled to adapt, maybe kids led the way. Play the cards you're dealt, shrug it off and seek out the fun. It's gonna be OK.

The kid is obviously older now and maybe it hasn't always been smooth sailing for him, but he's growing and learning, he's strong and resilient. He's reliable and loving. The image shows naivety and experience. A past, a present and a future.
