Mutes are an ambience-laced noise-rock band formed in Birmingham in 2013. Beginning as an outlet for the solo ambient and lo-fi bedroom recordings of frontman James, the project has now evolved into a 4-piece band. Having released 4 EPs, signed to Oxford's One Note Forever records, and with a full-length due in 2016, the band continues to play around the UK. They have shared the stage with Sauna Youth, God Damn, Slaves, Johnny Foreigner, Jimmy Whispers and more. With influences from No-Wave to post-rock, Mutes are not disposed to monotony or repetition.
