Kate is a Dublin based singer songwriter. A regular performer throughout the city, Kate has become a familiar face in some of Dublin’s most well-known venues including Whelans (supporting Marc O'Reilly), Bruxelles bar, the Workman club and the International Bar’s Circle Sessions.
Kate began song writing at an early age and at 17 came second in Today FM’s national competition, ‘Even Better than the Real Thing’ with Ian Dempsey who described her as ‘sweet and soulful’. Kate was invited to and has played at Belgian festival, ‘Uni-Vers’ and has supported popular Belgian act ‘Le Mash’. Kate is also a member of Dublin folk band ‘The Long Tails’, Pure M Band of the Year nominee, as well as a former member of Cork based band ‘PaperBoat’.
Kate is currently writing and recording new material and performing throughout the country and hopes to record and release her debut EP soon. She recently won first prize at the Noel Brazil songwriting competition at the Cork Folk Festival for her original song 'Great Escape'.
