Joel Cathcart is a composer, songwriter and visual artist, originally from Belfast, currently living in Genoa.
He specializes in intimate live performances in unusual locations, with recent concerts taking place in a luxury boutique, a salt warehouse and a 12th-century monastery, although he has also performed in art galleries and private homes throughout Europe (and even the occasional music venue!).
His latest album, 'Flotsam', is a mosaic of beached fragments: a collection of post-apocalyptic puzzles whose hybrid ensemble sound signals the collapse of conventional structures and the creation of new listening spaces amid flooded ruins and overgrown motorways...
Joel's solo debut, 'Praglia', is a nomad's album, a meeting point for songs written and rewritten in various locations throughout Ireland, Italy and the American Southwest, gathered together and recorded in a remote wooden house, nestled in the eponymous high plains overlooking the city of Genoa.
