The timeless music of the sixties recreated with love using period instruments and amplification. Stage wear and lights set the scene for a flashback of nostalgia to the golden age of popular music. The band have toured extensively in the UK, USA, Sweden and Argentina. Playing at such prestige events such as Abbey Road on the River and International Beatles Week. They have played live on TV to an audience of 2,000,000 in New York.
ITCHYCOO PARK have ‘flown the flag’ for Scotland around the world in recent years.
During 9 consecutive appearances at the International Beatle Week in Liverpool - they’ve played in The Cavern and other venues in and around Mathew Street, including The Jacaranda Club and the The Adephi Hotel many times!! On their debut in Liverpool (at The Cavern) they played 2 back to back sell-out shows as The Bootleg Rutles, backing original Rutle members - Neil Innes and John Halsey.
•A highlight in 2003 was meeting and supporting the ‘fifth’ Beatle - Pete Best in one of his one-man shows in Scotland.
•In 2004 they played in Sweden with Lawrence Macca; and a month later they had swapped hemispheres to play The Cavern again, but this time in Buenos Aires, Argentina as part of that venue’s annual South American Beatle Week.
•In 2005 they returned to play Beatle Week in Buenos Aires again, and also played in Santa Fe, 300 miles north of the capital with local friends The Mersey.
•In 2006 the band travelled to Turkey to perform on ‘The Beach Bar Tour’.
In 2007 through to 2019 - apart from playing live all over Scotland - they have travelled to North America every year to play at the world’s biggest Beatle-inspired festival – Abbey Road on the River - in Louisville Kentucky, Washington DC and Jeffersonville, Indiana.
•In 2010, whilst in America playing at AROTR, they also went to Staten Island NYC (at the invite of good NYC/NJ friends The Blue Meanies) to record a TV special, for over 2 million viewers! Their Stateside trip finished with dates in MA (with other good friends, MA's Union Jack Band) and then back in NYC. Later in 2010, the band were invited to feature in the inaugural Abbey Road on the River event in Washington DC, swapping the banks of the Ohio for those of the Potomac!
In 2016, ITCHYCOO PARK were invited back to play in Liverpool at International Beatle Week as well as to Louisville KY for that year's AROTR festival. Locally they played the Merchant City Festival in Glasgow for the 4th year in a row. Recently, the band have regularly played places like The Ferry in Glasgow, and have successfully put on local theatre shows including a 'Badfinger' tribute set, and a special 60's show featuring their 7 piece orchestral outfit, 'The Flower Power Strings' (plus The Chrysalis Dancers), as well as also landing a supporting slot for 'The 'Kast-Off Kinks' at the ABC in Glasgow.
Through 2017, 2018 and 2019; and right up until the Covid pandemic stopped all local gigs in early 2020; ITCHYCOO PARK have been playing regular live shows throughout Scotland, including 5 in a row Hogmanay gigs at Glasgow's prestigious Saint Luke's music venue.
Jim Logie - Bass, Vocals, Keyboards, Guitar, Mandolin: I'll never forget the first time I saw A Hard Day's Night...it completely changed my life!! Wearing my black plastic Beatle wig, and clutching a toy guitar, I ran out of the cinema in my short trousers and trying to recreate every scene from the movie...eventually arrived at a Police Station and playfully knocked a Policeman's Hat off!! He wasn't amused and told me that this was not an appropriate way for a 46 year old man to behave.......Jim travels a lot, so they haven't caught him yet.....
Ronnie Davidson - Guitar, Vocals: Playing live since the early 70’s as a solo singer-songwriter and in duo’s. Formed Cirkus and in the late 70’s Shoot the Moon was formed with Alex Fairley and John McNaught. STM had a substantial local following and by 1982 had concert appearances, local radio and national television exposure. In the mid 80’s Ronnie played in ‘’Glass Class’. By 1995 he started ITCHYCOO PARK with Jim Logie, John McNaught, and Alex Fairley.
John McNaught - Drums, Vocals, Percussion: John has worked in various bands since the 70’s including Cirkus and Shoot the Moon. STM appeared in the original UK ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition - a format now standard for new bands, but new enough in 1982 to warrant broadcast on BBC1 to 12 million viewers! In the mid 80’s John played in ‘This Perfect Heart’ and The Farm’. Inspired by the other members of the band to re-listen to classic 60s songs - at late night parties fuelled by tea - he formed ITCHYCOO PARK in 1995 with Jim, Ronnie and Alex.
