Let Me Down
Freeda released Let Me Down on the 8th of May through Spotify, ITunes and all major streaming platforms.
‘Let me down’ is a song that touches on the feeling of disappointment after expectations of an experience don’t live up to how you envisioned them. The lyrics play towards a let down in a relationship, where one person expects too much and their partner could never possibly live up to that high expectation.’
Freeda are a six piece Indie Rock band from Manchester. Forming in 2017, they spent their formative years establishing themselves in their hometown, building a committed following and selling out headline shows along the way.
In 2019, working with highly acclaimed production duo Sugar House, Freeda released three singles ‘Plead’, ‘Replay’ and ‘Wash’. Collectively, these went on to reach in excess of 100,000 streams on Spotify, received extensive backing from BBC Introducing, and continued support from XS Manchester and Amazing radio.
“A fine exhibition as to why Manchester bands have got something special in their sound.” - The National Student
Following a busy festival season which saw the band play numerous shows up and down the country - highlights include Dot 2 Dot, Tramlines Fringe, 110 Above and Y Not Festival. Freeda finished the year selling out their biggest headline show to date at the iconic Deaf Institute in Manchester.
After another sold out show in February 2020 supporting The Hubbards at Band on the Wall, Freeda announced a huge hometown date at The O2 Ritz (1,500 capacity) supporting Jordan Allen, in addition to this two shows were also announced supporting Spotify editor favourites Lostboy in Bristol and Sheffield. With these dates being postponed until September due to the COVID-19 Epidemic, the band have creatively been reaching out to their audience on social media with a series of videos called ‘The Corona Sessions’, these have quickly amassed over 10,000 views across social platforms.

Let Me Down is the fourth single to be taken from an upcoming EP set to be released later this year, it shows a natural progression in the bands writing both musically and lyrically. With an extensive production which combines synths, electronic percussion and psychedelic elements with the traditional guitar based sound, Freeda are aiming to bring something new to the table. The release has support from Radio X, BBC Introducing Manchester, XS Manchester, Amazing Radio and has already reached over 30,000 streams on Spotify.
