Casanova began in the Spring of 2014 when Leon Blanchard felt it was time to return to the live stage again as a full band, following twelve months out writing new material and playing solo shows in and around Lincolnshire. Blanchard wasted no time in forming a band, and by early 2014, just less than 3 months after forming Casanova, the band fronted by Blanchard were already playing their first string of headline shows in Lincolnshire.
Casanova found instant recognition from their track ‘Judy’ which was made available on the band’s SoundCloud in the summer of 2014. After uploading the track to the ‘BBC Introducing Uploader’ the track made it’s way all the way up to the airwaves of Radio 1 when it was play-listed by Huw Stephens.
Casanova continued to record demo’s and road-test songs throughout 2015, even playing Kendal Calling 2015 with sponsorship from Regatta Outdoors on a stage hosted by Radio 1’s Gemma Cairney. After ending 2015 on a successful show at Hull FRUIT, the band returned in 2016 with the exciting announcement of the band’s official debut four track EP, entitled LUSH.
LUSH propelled the band into instant nationwide recognition, their debut single and video 'Kids In Love' reached 'Track of The Day' with This Feeling in association with Gigslutz. The EP also caught the attention of This Feeling who hosted them at Leeds Festival 2016 and Kendal Calling who hosted them at the 2016 festival. Casanova also secured support slots with Milburn and We Are Scientists after a meeting in the artist lounge at Kendal Calling.
From the anthems and fast paced songs, to the slow burners with the catchy chorus, you can’t help but walk away singing the songs, and it’s clear to see why this band are already making waves in the world of new music.
