Cara Hammond is an indie pop, singer-songwriter artist, from North Wales now based in London. Her music music can be described as soulful-pop with influence from some of her favorite artists: Amy Winehouse, Lianne La Havas, and Paolo Nutini. Her deep and powerful voice bewitch everyone avid of great music and authenticity. She graduated from the Leeds College of Music with a first in 2017.
Cara has self released 3 EP's, with a series of new single under independent label 'Oswaldo'. 2019 has been an incredible year for Cara. Her latest single 'Such A Mess' which was released in September, has recently been added the the BBC Introducing Hotlist, as well as A listed on BBC Radio Wales. This release follows an incredible summer for Cara. Alongside performing a lot in London, she played mesmerising sets at several UK festivals including Boomtown, Pennfest, and How The Lights Gets In. Other highlights of her live performances include playing at Love Supreme, opening for Mahalia and Charlotte Church, and appearing on a BBC Introducing showcase.
Cara has been writing songs since the age of 11, Since then, she has been working at developing her songwriting skills by using personal experiences and learning from the writers she has been collaborating with. Over the last couple of years, Cara has attended several international co-writing sessions in Stockholm, Copenhagen, and Rotterdam. This year she has been working closely with several established writers such as Ben Bailey Smith (Doc Brown) and Andy Burrows on an EP and the soundtrack to a new BBC 1 drama, Sebastian Sternberg and Pedro Vito (co-writers of Jack Savoretti's N*1 album 'singing To Strangers', Blair MacKichan (co-writer on Sia's single "The Greatest"), ...
