Bronston is an exciting new groovy alt rock four-piece hailing from Edinburgh. The band formed in August of 2015 after trio SeaOfCrowns disbanded resulting in two former members, James Callaghan and Adam Campbell, assembling a new group. Callaghan drafted in school friend Mark Hennys on drums and fellow student of Music Technology at Edinburgh University, Ryan Firth, on guitar and synthesizer.
The band are taking a fresh approach to writing their music by refusing to closely define their musical interests and influences, drawing on anything and everything from The Internet and Kendrick Lamar to Tame Impala, Queens Of The Stone Age and Muse. Always continuing to expand their musical tastes and horizons, you can be certain that Bronston will be pushing the boundaries of alt rock in Scotland.
After taking the time to refine their sound, and having released a live teaser video ‘Still Winning’ on social media in October, they launched their debut single ‘I Feel Safe’ in February 2016 with their debut show at a sold-out Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh – supported by Mt Doubt. Following that up, Bronston played at The Green Room in Perth before supporting London’s Beasts and Finland’s The Scenes at Glasgow’s Buff Club, Perth's We Came From Wolves in Edinburgh's Electric Circus and Newcastle's Gallery Circus in Broadcast, Glasgow. ‘I Feel Safe’ has received multiple plays on various radio stations in Scotland since its release, including Jim Gellatly’s amazing radio show; FreshAir; RadioENRG; Radio Summerhall and Black Diamond FM.
The second single from the four-piece, ‘Where Can I Hide?’, is set to be released on September 26th, with shows in Edinburgh, Darwen, Dunfermline, Glasgow, Perth and Paisley to follow. They have also already begun work on their debut EP, coming in early 2017.
