Formed in early 2007 by singer-guitarist Tyler Kinder, Black Aces set about forming a set of songs influenced by the greats of Aussie rock; AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, The Angels and Cold Chisel. The band spent the early years of their existence cutting their teeth on local Bendigo stages such as The Newmarket, The Pub and The Vine. During these tentative first steps the band went through many line-up changes before landing on the rock solid line up of Pete McMillan on drums, Alex McMillan on bass and Jazz Morrice on rhythm guitar.
After solidifying a strong live following in Bendigo the band set their sights on the rest of the country, hitting every town big and small across the country. This period saw the boys making serious waves in the major cities of the easy coast. Melbourne and Sydney becoming particular strong holds. Black Aces shared the stage with many names such as Cosmic Psychos, Angry Anderson, Dallas Crane, The Delta Riggs and The Casanovas. All the hard work of this time peaked with their first trip abroad, slaying stages across the UK.
During 2015 the band hit the studio to record their long awaited debut album. Ensconcing themselves into Hothouse Audio in St Kilda with producer Craig Harnarth (Airbourne, Jet, The Living End). The sessions proved fruitful, spawning the album "Shot In The Dark". Released early in 2016, the album broke into the top 20 of the iTunes Australia rock charts, whilst being distributed widely across Europe and the UK, it gathered rave reviews from fans and critics alike.
On the back of this success Black Aces embarked on an enormous tour of the UK and Europe, lasting two months and culminating with a show stealing appearance at Hard Rock Hell festival in Wales, alongside such heavyweights as Molly Hatchet, Living Color and Ratt.
Black Aces return to the studio in 2017 to record the follow up to debut album "Shot In The Dark", this time working with legendary Aussie producer Mark Opitz (AC/DC, INXS, Cold Chisel, Kiss) and Colin Wynn at the pairs' Thirty Mill studios. The band is also preparing their next assault on English shores, on the back of being asked back to grace the main stage of "Hard Rock Hell" festival, taking it to the big boys.
The year 2017 is set to be the stage of a very bright and illustrious future for the boys from Bendigo!
