2Steps 4Words are a music collective from the edge of the Fens. The music is in the alternative folk, acoustic independent bracket (according to those in the know!) and is delivered with a sense of humour. The two continuous members are Rob (12 string guitar, vocals, violin and foot percussion) and Richard (double bass and vocals). Additional members at present include Francesca (vocals), Stephen (6 string acoustic) and Doug (flute and saxophone).
The bands first album, Moving Along, is currently available to purchase on this website as a CD or download with a donation currently being made from each sale to the East of England Apples and Orchards Project
Band songs Green Mountain and Moving Along were the first songs available in the download only format during December 2015. This release was also done in association with the East of England Apples and Orchards Project.
Highlights to date include doing two live acoustic sessions and interview for BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on the Sunday Evening Show in 2016 and on the Folk Show 2019. Songs played on those sessions, along with the 2016 interview, can be viewed on the bands YouTube channel. 2Steps 4Words have played at various local festivals, open mill days, plough days and rural museum events and the band supported Gypsy Fingers on dates in early 2019. The usual Soundcloud, Facebook and Twitter sites are other web based places to find links to 2Steps 4Words and their music.
