2Steps 4Words is a Music Collective from the edge of the Fens comprising Robin Bain on guitar, viola and vocals, Pat Kilbey on guitar and vocals, Marion Treby on keyboard, Michael Parker on guitar, Martin O’Leary on cajon.
They perform original, self penned songs by band members Robin and Pat. Robin’s songs, with their thoughtful lyrics and unusual chord progressions, are inspired by historic sites in Eastern England, whilst Pat’s lilting, country influenced songs are rooted in events and experiences.
The bands first album, Moving Along, is currently available to purchase on this website as a CD or download with a donation currently being made from each sale to the East of England Apples and Orchards Project
Band songs Green Mountain and Moving Along were the first songs available in the download only format during December 2015. This release was also done in association with the East of England Apples and Orchards Project.
Highlights to date include doing two live acoustic sessions and interview for BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on the Sunday Evening Show in 2016 and on the Folk Show 2019. Songs played on those sessions, along with the 2016 interview, can be viewed on the bands YouTube channel. 2Steps 4Words have played at various local festivals, open mill days, plough days and rural museum events and the band supported Gypsy Fingers on dates in early 2019.
