Crease started up in March 2015 when Mat Gamblin (bass), Brendan Portues (drums) and myself (guitar, vocals) got together for a few practices to have a go at some material I had written. Crease is more of our sound rather than our band name as we explore various genres including grunge, funk, punk, garage, psychedelia, hard rock, blues and even some elements of jazz. We take massive influence from bands such as Soundgarden, Nirvana, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, Sanatana, Led Zeppelin, Pixies, Rory Gallagher etc. We have played mostly in the North-east of England (Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Stockton, Durham, Leeds) though we’ve had the odd one off gig in other areas such as Berwick and Manchester. Crease's main achievements so far would be supporting the Stiff Little Fingers, supporting Bob Log III, playing the O2 academy after being together for only 6 months and recording our debut EP in only 5 days. Our goal for this year is to release our first studio EP to the best of our ability, to branch out to new parts of the UK and raise Crease awareness, to organise a small UK tour and to start recording our second EP. Goals for the future include organising a small European tour with European bands we know and combining our first 2 EP’s into an album release.
