The Four Seasons is Out Now + New Shows
Hey there fine friends,
I’m thrilled to share that my new album, “The Four Seasons,”** is officially out now**! It’s been a wild ride creating this one, and I’m so excited for you all to finally hear it. Check it out here, if ya haven’t already. or grab your vinyl, exclusive bundles, and merch here
To celebrate, I’ll be playing a couple of special shows in Melbourne and Sydney this November. I can’t wait to bring these new tunes to life on stage with my band, The Only Children.
The Four Seasons quite the trip—one that stretches the boundaries of modern twangy tones, all within a cozy Sunday afternoon vibe. Expect a mix of classic 60s golden-era country, modern indie twists, and even some Morricone-inspired instrumentals that track the weather patterns. And keep an ear out for some spectacular duets with my favourite singer, Queenie!
This record was so liberating to make for me. I held no thought back. It’s me at my most creatively free. I didn’t consciously try to stick to expectations or genre... I just let loose in the studio, and in the end, my twangy explorations, in both lyric-driven song and instrumental, landed in a cohesive mega-yacht ride. It’s an album to sink into the armchair, along with your favourite beverage, and listen out for the surprises while you drift away.
One of those surprises is the latest single, “Open The Door,” where Queenie and I let our voices bend and soar like a buckling iron suspension bridge under the weight of forbidden love. It’s a cross between the forceful and graceful guitars of Crazy Horse, a 60s echoey garage, and a Nancy and Lee duel.
Come join me in a full band extravaganza for a night (or two) of cinematic tunes and a whole lot of fun:
SAT 23 NOV - Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
FRI 29 NOV - The Lansdowne Hotel, Sydney
These shows will be a mix of much-loved gems and brand-new songs, all in full technicolor glory. It’s your last chance to catch me live this year, so don’t miss out!
Thanks for all the support—see you out there!
Cheers, Henry
