We've been writing and performing as Voodoo Cartel for over 10 years and got together based on our love of Funk.

Funk is not all we do though, and Rock/Prog/Jazz/Fusion feature across our Instrumental prog-funk escapades.

Over the last 2 years we've been writing and recording a concept album "Dia de los Muertos". Written as one 37 minute piece, to be enjoyed in its entirety, we follow the story of Catrina, a beautiful woman who attracts the attention of Baron Samedi during the day of the dead celebrations.

We do our best to evoke the flavours of our influences which are as varied as: Prince, Return to Forever, Rick James, The Aristocrats, Herbie Hancock, Steven Wilson, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Muse, Stevie Wonder, Living Color, Free, Snarky Puppy, Field Music and Queen.

Since late 2013 we've gone back to our instrumental funk/rock 3 piece roots as we squeeze different sounds and textures out of guitar, bass, drums and samples. Expect experimental rhythms and some fun atonal freeform outings mixed in with our penchant for a decent groove.

We hope you enjoy what we do and we're always looking for constructive feedback so get in touch with us through the plethora of Social media outlets and join our mailing list for previews of all things Voodoo Cartel related.

There are free tracks available to download on the side bar and we've got limited edition CDs for sale in our online shop.

Thanks for taking the time to listen!
