The Scruff head into 2018 as ‘ones to watch’, following on from what feels like a break out few months for the Bedford natives. A somewhat turbulent start to last year saw a member emigrate, a rebuilding process and a new outlook on their sound as the band regrouped with new guitarist Jack, to release ‘Her’, an anthemic single inspired by the passing of drummer Omar’s mother.

The single was swiftly picked up by the Radio One team, who made it BBC Radio One Introducing Track Of The Week, as well as receiving support from Steve Lamacq at BBC 6Music and picking up This Feeling Radio X Track Of The Week too.

Following on from a relentless tour, which saw the band play 40 shows in 3 months, including a BBC Showcase for SJM and a Fightback show for Music Venues Trust, the band headed into the studio to produce their next single ‘White Flag’.

White Flag is another testament to the strong songwriting that the band are becoming synonymous with. The single reflects the day to day struggles of life in a relationship, and the time out needed from your loved ones. The ongoing issues, the little fights and the need to sometimes press the reset button are all brought to the fore amongst a flurry of crunchy guitars, soaring vocals and even a little brass thrown in for good measure. All in all this is The Scruff’s strongest work to date and leads the band nicely into a busy summer of festival appearances and a UK headline tour to be announced in May.

The Scruff can be seen on the following shows - Full tour announced soon.
