Elliot Falla is a 20-year-old Channel Islander who is increasingly making his mark in the UK with his own brand of dark blues music. The songwriting undergraduate, who takes his inspiration from Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Pink Floyd, formed his band The Blue Valentines from among his BIMM Brighton student cohort. The band embarks on its first UK tour in April 2019.
Elliot Falla and The Blue Valentines comprises Elliot Falla (vocals and guitar), Andrew Stevens (electric guitar), Rob Whale (bass, keyboards) and Jake Lillywhite (drums). The band released its first single I’m in Love Again in May 2018 and the follow-up track Cheapside in September. A new release, So easy, is planned for March 2019.
Formed out of necessity to back Elliot as a requirement of his first year project, Elliot Falla and The Blue Valentines has become a tight-knit unit that thrives on performance and the response of a live audience.
With six years’ songwriting experience behind him Elliot Falla’s vocal maturity belies his age, having earned the plaudit: “Elliot Falla has a voice like he's been in three wars, lived rough on the streets of Brooklyn for 20 years and delivered a baby during an avalanche in the Andes. Elliot Falla is far, far more than what anyone could have expected and he plays music so beautiful your ears will cry,” - Gracie Bassie.
