Kavus Torabi is a British/ Iranian composer, multi-instrumentalist, performer, author, artist, broadcaster and DJ. Since 2016 he has fronted legendary psychedelic band Gong with whom he is principal songwriter. He is a member of the semi-modular experimental/ psychedelic trio The Utopia Strong. He is a former guitarist of legendary British cult band, Cardiacs and avant rock instrumentalists Guapo. As part of a a DJ duo with Steve Davis, he has performed festivals throughout the UK, recently performing at Wembley Stadium between bands for Blur’s comeback performance. In 2021 White Rabbit  published, Medical Grade Music, his memoir with Steve Davis which was Shindig’s music book of the year. In April 2024 his commissioned piece ‘Lion Of The Lord’s Elect’ will make its debut at Roadburn Festival, NE

In 2020 he released his first solo album Hip To The Jag. The follow up, ‘The Banishing’ is available now!

Twelve Caesars formed when Andrew met Steve, the in-house producer at Parklands Studio, where Andrew was recording an EP with his band, Candystash. Before that, Steve had toured America playing Hammond organ, bass, and blues harp with Hobe and Denzil, gaining critical acclaim. After working in the duo The Julie Band, Steve returned to the UK, writing music for films like 'The Shrink Is In' and 'Cruel Intentions 2'.

Andrew left music to become a successful stand-up comedian, touring the UK and performing at the Edinburgh Fringe with the likes of Al Murray and Tim Vine. He eventually returned to the studio with Steve, and they released 'While Stars Collide' in 2021. After signing to independent UK label, Ramrock Records in 2022, 'Swan Fendered Mercury' was their first single from their debut LP, 'Scenes from Wild Eyed Dreams', released in 2023, receiving much critical acclaim. 'Ride the American Wave' followed as the second single with the North Street West production team remixing the track turning it into a Balearic standard. With 2024 turning out to be a busy year in the studio for Twelve Caesars, they have a new LP ready for an Autumn release called 'Cointelpro'.
