“Rickety guitars, shuffling drums and viciously spat vocals create a lively whiskey drenched atmosphere” NME
“Channelling the spirit of the blues… you won’t hear another voice like it this year.” Steve Lamacq, BBC 6 Music
“Think a 21st century Bob Dylan, at his most primal, going dancing with Iggy Pop” Classic Rock
“A swaggering debut single - Track Of The Day” Q Magazine
The Midnight Barbers are Ben Rowntree (harmonica, guitar, vocals) and Jack Pepper (drums).
Even before the release of their debut EP they've managed to inspire support from the likes of NME, Q, Classic Rock and BBC6's Steve Lamacq and Shaun Keaveny.
Their new single, 'Sleeping Well', has a Josh Homme sized riff with vocals that feel like a panic attack induced by a month long coffee and cigarette binge. The track comes complete with stop motion Aardman inspired visuals. It's a bit like Wallace and Gromit on LSD.
This year they'll be playing headline shows across Europe and the UK and putting out their first extended releases including tracks recorded at Abbey Road Studios.
