Shindig! Magazine review of Let's Go!
The aptly named Hurricanes are a full-throttle assault on the senses. Their debut album is a loud, brash and ballsy mod-garage sound inspired by the likes of The Prisoners and early Inspiral Carpets. Featuring 10 band originals, from the title track onwards the pace is unrelenting. Chugging basslines, pounding drums, distorted guitars and punky vocals are shot through with a sneering indie pop sensibility. It's pretty one dimensional and makes no apologies for it; the group's energy and enthusiasm shines through on what amounts to a live gig for pogoing along to in your front room. The Hurricanes have been around in various incarnations since the mid-90s so this is not the sound of a young band picking up their instruments for the first time. The rough around the edges approach is appealingly direct and their modish leanings should make them a popular draw on the live circuit. - Paul Ritchie 3/5
