Where to start...

I've been wanting to post something all week, but never been able to find the words or felt it was right. Usually, I'd post something to do with the band and what we're up to while stuck in lock down. This week however, it just hasn't felt right to be self-promoting.

The murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officers last week has absolutely sickened me to the core, as I am sure it has with you. The police are supposed to protect and serve all communities, but the only ones who feel protected are white. How can we be in the 21st century and still have such abhorrent racism and discrimination? How can there still be people who believe in white supremacy?? What are racists and bigots so afraid of??? I just can't understand why people feel the need to discriminate on any level, nor do I want to understand. There is no reason anyone could come up with that would make me see things from that point of view. They are wrong and it needs to be stopped, now! That is why I am using the small platform I have to speak up about it. As James Corden said this week, how can the black community dismantle a problem they didn't create? It needs white people to speak up, to shut it down, to call people out on their racism and stand with our brothers and sisters in the black community. If we do not speak out and ignore it, it will not go away and we will become part of the problem. This cannot be allowed to go on any longer. Oh, and if you think racism isn't a problem in the UK, you are very, very wrong!!

The one bit of band news I will post is that we have requested our music be removed from Tik Tok. They appeared to be censoring black lives matter posts while at the same time, allowing the 'George Floyd challenge' to go unchecked. That is disgusting! So, please, if you use tik tok, delete your account and never use it again. The whole app needs to be shut down and wiped out.

Please, can we just take care of one another? Is that so hard?
