** VENUE CLOSED **
Sadly The Good Ship has closed but Good Ship Comedy has sailed on to a new harbour at The Colonel Fawcett in Camden Town. You can now buy tickets for our new shows at https://good-ship-comedy-club.designmynight.com/
Born on 2nd September 2005, The Good Ship is a grassroots music venue, bar, nightclub and comedy venue all rolled into one. Consider us an extension of your front room with a jukebox in. We are first and foremost a music bar and we are actively committed to bringing the best bands to Kilburn and also using the space of The Good Ship as a place for the arts and entertainment. So we have DJs, bands, spoken word and story telling nights, stand up comedy and anything else interesting/innovative that we come across or you suggest. Not karaoke though, no no no no no. We occasionally put on cover bands or tributes of bands that we loved like, The Smiths, REM and David Bowie.
We sell a wide range of beers, wines and spirits and used to be one of the few places in London that sold real ale after 11pm. Alas, to cut down on wasteage we have had to revert to keg but we have an interesting range of beer, both mass produced populist and small batch craft style at more sensible prices than the average. There is a 100 cd juke box (including Kate Bush, Nick Cave, Stevie Wonder, Interpol and a load of Nuggets and Rough Trade compilations) and we change it regularly to keep it nice and fresh. Until the coin mechanism is fixed (probably never) it is also free. We have a massive screen on which we have all sorts of visuals from time to time too. We tend not to show sport but we make the odd exception for the local team; QPR.
We say no to alcopops, fruit machines, change on a plate. We say yes to ales, customers of all (legal) ages and enjoying a friendly, non pretentious atmosphere.
We very much welcome customer feedback so let us have your compliments or brickbats to John at 07949 008253 or john@thegoodship.co.uk. A quick reply is promised.
