Hachiku Single Launch

Hachiku is the brainchild of 23 year old German songwriter and DIY dream-pop bedroom rock producer Anika Ostendorf. Since the release of Hachiku’s debut EP in 2017 through Milk! Records, Ostendorf found a home and 4 piece band in Melbourne. A busy 2017 saw them fill out a residency at the Tote and play shows with Japanese Breakfast, Camp Cope and Fazerdaze. The new single 'Murray's Lullaby' (think: Perfume Genius, Grimes and early Coco Rosie) was written and self-recorded in regional Queensland while Ostendorf was completing 3 months of farm work - a requirement for her Australian visa. You can expect a show full of 'ethereal and catchy melodies, highly tasteful, textural guitar playing and shimmering walls of sound; fabulous three-part vocal harmonies that rise sweetly and wistfully to the heavens and create a very unique brand of left of centre shoegaze' (THE MUSIC).
