PYJÆN seamlessly blends jazz, disco, punk, hip-hop, and a myriad of contemporary sounds into a singular experience. This innovative band offers a fresh take on live music, creating sounds that appeal to both jazz enthusiasts and modern music lovers.
At the heart of PYJÆN lies the chemistry between its members: original founders Ben Vize (saxophone) Dylan Jones (trumpet), Benjamin Crane (bass), and Charlie Hutchinson (drums), along with their newest addition, Tjoe Man Cheung, on guitar.
PYJÆN seamlessly melds funk, afro-beat and contemporary sounds with nods to hip-hop and disco, whilst acknowledging the traditional era of 1920s jazz and dance music.
Their adventurous songwriting, meticulous timing, tight horn arrangements, and joy in playing together are the hallmarks of PYJÆN's unmistakable sound.

Based in London, PYJÆN is a band with its common link in improvised music and the jazz tradition, but with vision of pushing music forward in new directions. The sound of PYJÆN has many influences... Rock, electro, afrobeat, hip hop and jazz fusion being a few of them.
Having all met at Trinity Laban College of music, PYJÆN have the shared goal of exploring life through musical expression and perfecting their art.
PYJÆN is a collective of close friends with similar aims and passions; to create music and connect with, and bring people together.
