“Punk with a pop flourish. Matching askew melodies to some wry, acerbic lyrics, the whole package is shot-through with a punk energy” Clash
“Bands don’t come more instantly infectious than SuperGlu.” DIY
SuperGlu. are delighted to announce the release of their new track ‘Dreams’, out November 25th on Antigen Records. The track was recorded at Crypt Studios in London with producer George Perks.
Raw punk energy, beautiful harmonies and enchanting vocals weave and soar incandescently around crunching guitars, while the band will have you bouncing off the walls in a style often envisioned in Ben Brown and Krista Lynch’s energetic stage performance. Dreams depicts a haunting hyper reality, as the dream world becomes larger than life with Ben Brown encountering a succession of surreal visions from roller skating lessons to jungle warfare, unable to discern fantasy from fact.
Incorporating the raucous energy of The Fall, Pixies or The Damned, combined with the irresistible pop sensibilities of Supergrass or Blur, the impish sense of humour of Half Man Half Biscuit and the heavenly close harmonies of The Beach Boys, their sound is instantly and deeply infectious.
Following the instant success of the ‘Horse’ EP and the first single, ‘Diving Bell’, picked-up by the likes of DIY, Clash and Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, the summer saw them getting seriously stuck into the summer festival circuit, including two Great Escape appearances, Latitude and two BBC Introducing headline slots at Reading and Leeds.
