"Dumb Animals is a true eye opener, a wonderful revelation of lyrical prowess and the sheer gall in carrying it off, like a suit stitched together from outrageous colour schemes, with the glint in the eye that can attract even the stoniest of hearts as it is being worn lovingly down the busy market place of music, Dumb Animals is magnificent, panache like steel, sensitive to lyric and music alike." Wirral-based band rock band Scaredycats were formed at the start of 2015. They deliver an eclectic mix of songs with influences as broad as Hot Chip, The Slow Readers Club, Slug, Field Music, Brakes, Whitney, The Divine Comedy...
They have built a reputation for the originality of their live performances and songwriting. The band has been featured on Tom Robinson’s BBC 6 music Introducing show and their debut album “Dumb Animals” was released on October 1st 2017. The album was funded via Pledgemusic and hit its pledge target within days of being announced.
With wry, world-weary lyrics, Scaredycats deliver their views on the dubious pleasures of online shopping, the wisdom of dogs, the pointlessness of conflict, and the search for happiness in beautifully crafted and melodic songs that stay with the listener long after being heard.
Scaredycats are Neil Dutton on drums, Andy Jacobson on keys, Jim Pearson on guitar and vocals and Steve Wale on bass and vocals.
