To be comfortable within one’s own skin is a virtue many take for granted. For London-based singer/songwriter, Saffron, body dysmorphia has been an ongoing struggle since she was 7. As a self-proclaimed outcast who exists outside of the conventions of what we perceive as ‘normal’, Saffron sets out to tell her side of the story, and her place in this world.
Her music treads the line between R&B and Alternative Pop, merging emotionally-provocative cinematic soundscapes that float atop a bedrock of modern Hip Hop beats. With these foundations in place, Saffron recites tales from the heart, touching on themes of self-empowerment through a lens of childlike innocence. Her music echoes influence from the likes of Melanie Martinez, Billie Eilish, Tyler The Creator and Phil Collins to name just a few. Above all, what drives Saffron to make music is the simple joy of the creative process itself, pulling ideas from out of the ether and compiling them into a cohesive piece of work she can be proud to call her own.
Saffron has plans to release a full-length album in October. Further release details to follow.
