November 2021 update.
Been a long time since we rock n rolled..
Because of the pandemic, it’s been a couple of years since RnRA have played a gig. But we haven’t been slacking! Nearly four years to the day since the recording of our debut album, ‘Peaceful’, at St Michael and All Angels church in Bristol, the band will return to the venue – in virtual form – for the remix of our new E.P., ‘Lifelines’. In the heart of the winter solstice, the church will provide the acoustics for a unique ‘reamping’ mix, by experimental producer Jay Auborn.
We didn’t have the budget to record a full album this time, so instead we decided to make an E.P. of five songs linked by a narrative thread. In brief, the songs follow five key events in a life, starting with gambling and ending up with commitment (with ‘debt’, ‘work’ and ‘escape’ in between).
The first stage in making the EP was to create some live demos of the songs at dBS Studios, which happened in June 2021. You can hear some extracts from these sessions here:
