Pleasure House are an electrifying and infectious Indie Pop quartet from Birmingham, fusing powerful rhythms, storytelling vocals and classic pop sensibilities on a bed of ethereal, euphoric noise. From the residual heat of the B-Town scene, these four young gentlemen have burst onto the radar with their energetic and passionate live show. Radiating with confidence and youthful spirit, they have taken the sadness and despondency out of a winter a sky and painted it with euphoria, pop joviality and young bliss. There’s a Pleasure House party and everyone’s invited.
Led by their charismatic frontman Alex Heffernan, Pleasure House tell tales of the mind and of the heart. They explore the realities of their twenty-something manhood without shame, confronting young love in its different forms: hedonism and excess are intertwined with cynicism and melancholy through raw, intelligent lyricism.
Having toured with and supported the likes of Emeli Sande, Will I Am, Plan B, Wretch 32, Olly Murs, Jamie Cullum, Laura Mvula and Tinie Tempah, these four talented musician joined forces in April 2014, with the shared aim of writing, recording and performing their own original material, and becoming an established touring act in their own right.
The band have started to build a loyal following in the Midlands, and judging by the strength of their songs and live show (which has drawn comparisons to Bastille, The 1975 and Peace), Pleasure House could easily be the next most exciting thing to come from Birmingham.
