Line Up

Professional genre tourists and consummate knob twiddlers, TEAM PICTURE are 6 individuals from Leeds who want to take you for a delicious audio picnic in a great big field of fuzz beneath a sky of molten weirdpop somewhere on the outskirts of a village in which Kristin Hersh and Bradford Cox are elected members of the local governing body. They’re also probably the most polite band in the UK.

York-based band The Howl & The Hum combine their rumbling, melodic dark pop with haunting, evocative lyrics, and a hypnotic yet energetic live show, creating songs that recall the likes of The National and Massive Attack.

Following acclaimed sets at Neighbourhood Festival and Loopallu and a debut tour of the Scottish Highlands, The Howl & The Hum are down as a band to watch on their keenly awaited second tour, with overflowing praise from such voices as Clash Magazine and Tom Robinson on BBC 6Music.

"expansive indie songwriting that nods towards Massive Attack or Portishead." - Clash Magazine

"Their debut EP, Godmanchester Chinese Bridge is just the right amounts of accessible yet still unerringly cool and ’emotional’." - Crack In The Road

"The Howl And The Hum are a seriously great band, from whom you will be hearing a great deal more in the coming months." - Tom Robinson, BBC 6Music

*****‘….and she was a bit of a revelation. Early days but big heavy beats and that beautiful soaring vocal left me wanting to find out more…’ - Tony Ereira, Come Play With Me, God is In the TV Zine.

‘With dark, brooding synths and a stadium-ready voice, La Rissa could be one to keep an eye on’ – BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire

‘Dark synth sounds and catchy tunes…We are listening to something like “Dark Pop”’ – Lothar Poeller, Nachtplan (German Online Magazine)

‘We were struck not only by the Leeds-based producer/performer’s voice, but her presence’ – I Die: You Die Blog

‘…making her a one-woman band. Impressive, right? She’s inspired by post-punk, and 80’s nostalgia which makes for a really unique, dark sound that I can’t get enough of.’ Emily Pilbeam, BBC Introducing.*****

Featuring on Huw Stephens' show on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Introducing, LA RISSA is an electronic independent DIY artist and producer.

After releasing her first EP 'Control' (2016), LA RISSA was featured on BBC Radio for the BBC Introducing show performing a live session and interview.

Influenced heavily from an eclectic mix of 80’s dark-wave and post-punk bands and artists, the female producer uses 80’s nostalgic beats, her own live vocals, and heavy synth sounds. Through midi-controllers and live looping she is essentially a one-woman band mastering the creation of Dark Pop.

Her material has been featured on BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 1,, BBC Introducing WY and BCB Radio.

Influences - Cocteau Twins, Joy Division, Bauhaus, New Order, FKA Twigs, The Cure, Grimes, Siouxsie Sioux, Cranes, The KVB & Savages
