Don't Eat The Sandwiches - Purple Dreams
Hi.
Happy 2022!
I hope you and yours are keeping safe and well.
When I was 19 and living at home in Wales I formed my first band with keyboard player Martin Phillips that we called ‘Purple Dreams.’ We wanted to be like Erasure and the Pet Shop Boys but in truth we sounded more like Howard Jones and Genesis. We wrote loads of original songs and performed them in local pubs, theatres, halls and at college where we were doing A Levels. We worked incredibly hard, sometimes through the night to get songs ready for a performance the next day.
Thankfully, we recorded all the songs onto cassettes. Up until June 2020 they were buried in my loft until I accidentally found them when looking for a cable for another studio project! I thought it would be fun to re-do one of the songs but got a bit carried away and re-recorded 16! I tried to imagine what it would be like to produce the 19 year old me…I was quite hard on myself! I did stay faithful to the original songs but added a few modern touches here and there to bring them up to date. Martin and I had a lot of fun working on this project for you…And ‘after 30 years’…the album is finished.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…I am proud to announce…
The NEWish ‘Purple Dreams - Don’t Eat The Sandwiches’ Limited Edition album - signed, numbered CD and postcard (and HQ Digital Option) is now on pre-order and I’d love you to hear it!

Painstakingly re-recorded and re-produced songs from the original cassette demos during the first lockdown of 2020.

The official release date is January 14th but if you pre-order you should get it before then!

Really appreciate your support as always.
Much love,
Nathan
