SOUNDING :: Modern Studies + Lomond Campbell, with Pumpkinseeds chamber orchestra
Modern Studies + Lomond Campbell
Entry Requirements: n/a
At SOUNDING, two of the most progressive and highly regarded new Scottish acts present their unique brand of pastoral and lyrical pop.
Modern Studies and Lomond Campbell's sets will be enhanced by intricate arrangements played by renowned ten-piece string section The Pumpkinseeds, with brass and gospel voices, in what promises to be a spectacle of contemporary indie talent.
After the success of debut album Swell to Great (★★★★ MOJO, ★★★★ Scotsman, ★★★★ List), Modern Studies will present - for the first time - material from their ambitious follow-up LP (to be released early 2018).
Lomond Campbell’s 2016 album Black River Promise (★★★★ Scotsman, ★★★★ Record Collector, ★★★★ List) will be presented in its entirety.
SOUNDING will take place over three nights – 20-22 August 2017 – during the Edinburgh Fringe, in the beautiful Stockbridge Church, a Georgian building with stunning acoustics.
The show will feature special projections, an exclusive publication and downloads given out free to ticket holders, and a bar run by The Glad Cafe.
50 'early-bird' tickets at £8 (inc booking fee) are available here for each night. Once sold, tickets will go on general sale at £12 through the Fringe Box Office.
