Without music, life would be a mistake.
Modernsky is a brand new music entertainment company firmly set within our home and bosom of the North of England.
We will only work with artists who are driven and are passionate about their art and their music. We only work with artists that we are passionate about, regardless of genres, taking influence from great artist-focused independent labels, placing art and creativity at the forefront of what we do.
Modernsky UK was founded from the partnering of Sound City and Modernsky Entertainment, (China).
Modernsky now spans across three continents with teams in China, USA and the UK launching international campaigns. Each is driven by a shared vision.
Modernsky Entertainment (China) was founded in 1996 by Shen Li Hui, hailed as a pioneer and maverick of the Chinese entertainment industry. He initially launched Modernsky as a record label to release music from his own band and friends. The company has now grown into the largest independent record label in Asia releasing over 200 albums and working with over 70 artists. Along with this, the company is also the largest Chinese festival promoter selling over 3.5 million tickets and owns an online streaming platform set to hit 50 million subscribers in 2017.
Shen Li Hui is praised for his fair treatment of artist and business ethic in a territory well known for battling copyright and IP issues.
Modernsky UK is headed up by David Pichilingi who has a long and illustrious career within many areas of the British music scene. The team has a key focus to work with a number of UK artists primarily within the North of England and Scotland. The primary label works with artists on large releases while the newly launched Modernsky: Boutique will champion truly emerging talent.
There are no facts, only interpretations. We have art in order not to die of the truth.
Modernsky will become a beacon for emerging talent from the UK leftfield scene. We will shine this beacon on a global scale and take our art and artists to the audiences ready to consume them with great passion.
