New 4 track EP - DOLLY SAID NO TO ELVIS out on February 2nd 2018
New EP featuring four brand new songs out on February 2nd 2018
Dolly Said No To Elvis tells the true story of how Elvis’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, approached a very young Dolly Parton about Presley recording her song ‘I Will Always Love You’. Of course she was thrilled, until it was made clear that she would be expected to hand over half of her songwriting royalties to The King. Sorry Elvis “Not 50%, not 20, not 10%, not any, even 1 is 1 too many, thou shalt not have a penny!”
Long Haul White Knuckle Ride is a rocking race through the ups and downs of married life, a song that Roy Wood’s Wizzard would have been proud of. “Take off your coat, roll up your sleeves, step inside….”
Little Jimmy Pain is another true story, the heartbreaking tale of underrated jazz legend Little Jimmy Scott. Jimmy was 4’11” until he was 35, when his body started making strange creaking noises in the night and amazingly, he grew 7 inches!
Oh No, Another Song is a weary country waltz featuring the mournful pedal steel guitar of BJ Cole. The song was written by Nevin with Grammy Award winning Nashville songwriter James House and E Street Band bass player/co-founder Garry Tallent - move over Bruce!
