Almost exactly a year after the gloriously sloshy mudfest that was Kozfest 2017 we were fortunate enough to play at the delightful 'A New Day' festival near Faversham, Kent in what turned out to be the last weekend of an extended heat wave . . .
The stage was facing the setting sun but our show, starting at 4pm, was before it could actually get on with any of that setting business and it was scorching down at 30-odd degrees directly at us, ensuring the hottest gig we've had thus far. The stage may have been sauna-like, but the reception was near as warm and the atmosphere throughout the day most friendly and convivial.
We were all sorry to have missed the various luminaries that had lit up the previous two days and weren't able to stay to see "Ten Years After", but were able to relax after our set and enjoy the most excellent "Son of Man", "John Coghlan's Quo", "Ava" and "Tygers of Pan Tang" before we had to hit the road for the long journey back to Bristol. Many thanks to all the organisers and crew who were slaving on through the heat to provide a relaxed but smoothly efficient atmosphere for performers and attendees alike.
