Leeds based singer-songwriter Katie Dean is due to release the follow up to debut EP 'You Should Know' with her latest offering 'This Modern Life' after working with producer Matthew Peel (Pulled Apart By Horses, Eagulls, Hookworms) at The Nave Studio (Leeds) last Summer.
Most recently Katie released new single 'Checking In' in October 2017 which will also feature on new EP 'This Modern Life' due to be released in 2018. With a new 'dream pop' sound Katie inspires a new direction and strays from the traditional, acoustic, singer-songwriter manner, combining heavily influenced 80s style guitar sounds of Echo and the bunnymen, The Cure, Fleetwood Mac and The Smiths with a synth based 'Stranger Things' esq atmosphere.
Katie has recently just finished touring with female icon Tori Amos opening 27 dates across North America, and is due to tour the UK later this year. Debut EP 'You Should Know' attracted great support from BBC radio's in Leeds, Lancashire and Scotland, who she also played live sessions for on BBC Introducing/Soho radio and was twice included on Charlie Ashcroft's audition show, also making 'Track Of The Day' over at Amazing Radio. EP track 'Best Thing' was featured on the Music Glue Playlist and the lead track 'You Should Know' was featured on Topshops 'hottest tracks' playlist.
