Awesome & Kosmic in collaboration with Collage Arts presents a night dedicated to the legendary Indian playback singer, Mohammed Rafi.

Mohammed Rafi, lovingly called Rafi Saab, remains one of the most cherished and iconic playback singers in the history of Indian cinema. Born on December 24, 1924, his melodious voice became the soul of countless classic songs, spanning an extraordinary range of genres from romantic ballads to devotional hymns, patriotic anthems, and peppy dance numbers. Over his illustrious career, he sang over 7,000 songs in multiple languages, cementing his place as a musical legend. Rafi Saab’s voice had a unique ability to adapt to the emotions of the actor he was singing for, giving life to the words and elevating the music of composers like Naushad, S.D. Burman, and Shankar-Jaikishan. With hits like Aaj Mausam Bada Beimaan Hai, Kya Hua Tera Wada, Chaudhvin Ka Chand, and Baharon Phool Barsao, Rafi Saab captured the hearts of millions and became a voice that defined an era of Indian cinema.

As we celebrate the centenary of this unparalleled maestro in 2024, we honor not only his vast body of work but also the humility and kindness that made him beloved by colleagues and fans alike. Rafi Saab’s music continues to resonate with audiences of all generations, transcending time and geography. His songs remain timeless treasures that evoke deep emotions and fond memories.
