"The majority of support bands at these affairs are instantly forgettable. The Jack Fletcher Band aren’t. This Wolverhampton four piece, comprising the eponymous Jack Fletcher on guitar and vocals with George Hadley (guitar), Henry Bradley (bass) and Tom Robinson (drums) played a half hour set of guitar-based indie-rock to a crowd anticipating more Substitute than Smiths, more Join Together than Joy Division. That they managed to evoke an appreciative reaction said much for Fletcher’s thoughtful vocals, George Hadley’s shimmeringly effective riffs and the solid backbeat of Robinson and Henry Bradley."
