Intuitive songs, recorded during songportraits and honoring ceremonies, are each inspired by an individual requesting the song, and enriched afterward by studio arrangement.

Special thanks to all the recipients, and for their generosity in allowing a song born from a personal wish to be shared with the world, with the understanding that a song for one can become a song for all.

What is an intuitive song? In the songwriting process, often the composer takes great lengths of time to arrive at a chosen lyric and melody. With intuitive songmaking, also called 'spontaneous songmaking', there is no development time- only the moment. Trusting whatever lyrics and melody emerge in the moment as being the 'right ones'.

Michael Stillwater has been creating and recording intuitive songs for nearly 50 years, and discovered very early that another person's request, or wish, can be a great inspiration. This could be anyone open to receiving a message in song, to address an issue, situation, pattern or even a special moment occuring in their lives.
