"Road To Avalon" Photo Journal Book by Chris Turpin (Signed First Edition)
‘Road to Avalon’ is the photography journal of Chris Turpin, documenting the tours of Ida Mae’s first album ‘Chasing Lights’ and the writing of their second album, ‘Click Click Domino’.
The result of those journeys is a limited edition, hand-signed, and numbered first-edition coffee table book of 35mm and 120mm film and digital photos taken by Chris and selected by the band. A one of a kind companion piece to their new album.
Traveling over 250,000 miles by car, train, plane, and boat, Chris and Stephanie covered the length and breadth of the USA and Europe. From dive bars to stadiums, this is an intimate and detailed glimpse into the lives and extraordinary road journey of the band and its two members.
Along the way, they had the privilege of opening for artists such as Willie Nelson, Allison Krauss, Marcus King and Greta Van Fleet to name a few. A diverse and incredible range of music and musicians, these performances helped to create an even more unique and kaleidoscopic tableau of what it really means to be an artist on the road, and completely surrendering to the spirit that moves all those who create.
“Thank you, Chris and Stephanie, for slowing your own stories down, for pausing by the roadside to snap and save. To bring together the visions that laid patient behind your eyes. You remind us, the seekers are still here, they still desire and believe in life without end, in living agenda-less, and with a desert wind hallowed in the cracks made by misfortune and triumph, with the ills of trying to live a life free and totally devoted to the muse. Our heralds of free-wheeling, we salute you. Thank you for your memories of a road most traveled.”
