Hannah Jackson
Inspired by greats like Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan and James Taylor, we think that if you listen to our choice song “Grace”, you agree she’s well on her way to being one of the greats herself: - Richer Unsigned
Hannah is an unsigned singer-songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland. Hints of Laura Marling and The Staves can be identified in her soaring melodies, intricate acoustics and her whimsical, stripped-back performance style. Her debut EP The Day That I Loved is available now across all platforms. Her latest single Grace, produced by Harry Tarlton delves deeper into her folk roots. Notably, Grace was Richer Unsigned Track of the Week. Hannah performed a choral version of the song at Queen Elizabeth Hall with London Contemporary Voices choir in November 2018.
Hannah began her career as the resident singer in Swing Ltd, an underground Jazz bar on Hope Street in Glasgow when she was just eighteen years-old. She performed solo, and with the house band. After two years working at Swing Ltd, she moved on to other residencies at venues such as Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow, Wild Cabaret and Wicked Lounge, Riding Room, The Polo Lounge. She also performed sets of her own music at various Glasgow venues such as King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Broadcast, Oran Mor, Buff Club, Glasgow University Union, Queen Margaret Union and many more. Most notably, Hannah performed at The Scotstwoman of the Year Awards two years in a row. Hannah graduated with an MA in Music from The University of Glasgow in 2015.
She decided to pursue a music career in London, so she gained a place studying Vocal Performance at London Centre for Contemporary Music for one year. During this year, Hannah began to establish herself on the London music scene. Now into her third year in London, Hannah has performed solo sets of her own music all over the city. She has developed a great relationship with Sofar Sounds London, having just played her sixth show with them. She has played two Nest Collective Campfire Club shows. She has also performed at various London venues including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, The Troubadour, Spice of Life Soho, The Bedford, Amersham Arms, Camden Lock 17, The Green Note and The Distillers. In addition to her solo performing, Hannah is an alto with London Contemporary Voices. Through them, she has worked with artists such as The Staves, Laura Mvula, Roo Panes, Tom Chaplin (Keane), Orlando Weeks (The Maccabees), Stu Larsen.
