“Silent Alarm”, the latest single off EP III, is an exercise in indie-cum-electronica done right. Propelled by an innocuous drone-like beat that hums along, it’s swiftly followed by haunting vocals, distorted and affected guitar riffs, rounded off by intelligent songwriting. It eventually culminates in a crescendo of colourful music, as Frett pile on layer after layer of complex and immaculately placed instrumentation. The result is the heady feeling of a life victorious.
