The Trio Swine - Stonewort
Stonewort by Swine Stonewort Is a slice of Somerset Gothic by the trio Swine, Swine create debris strewn wetlands of sound and conjure sonic deliriums using a variety of sound sources including Michael Fairfax’s sound sculptures, electronica from dystopian drum and bass producer Jon Cooke and Tim Hill’s layers of treated saxes. The result is an organic, improvised sound world of tides, swirls, swamps. of geologies of noise blurring inner and outer landscapes. Michael’s instruments are hewn from trees, a family of beautiful stringed instruments, both elemental and evocative. You can see them at www.michaelfairfax.co.uk/sound.html. Swine can have two digital releases, ‘Bloodmonth’ on the US Noise Label. Muteant and ‘Lost and Found’ on Tim’s own Brazen Head label https://muteantsoundsnetlabel.bandcamp.com/album/blood-month https://brazenhead1.bandcamp.com/album/swine-lost-and-found Terrific drawn out swells, like the wake of a slow-cruising barge or a very large school of marine life, epitomize Blood Month by Swine. Aquatic lurking hisses and gurgles form the eerie ambiances produced by the unique instrumentation within this album Toneshift Michael Fairfax – sound sculptures Jon Cooke – electronics Tim Hill – saxes and effects artwork by Michael Fairfax Recorded at the Upper Room Somerset Mixed and edited by Tim Hill
