The creation of this video was very much a reaction to the lack of live performance in our lives this year, we wanted to capture a moment, imperfect but (hopefully...😅) full of excitement. The final video was the first & only full take we captured on the day we set aside to film it and it felt super special to approach it in this way. Que sera sera etc etc... very excited to share it with you!!

Times are strange & so are we. ‘CURIOSITY (DAWN)’ is out 2 weeks today. Each record will be unique - ecovinyl production means using leftover wax already in the factory so that no record is the same and the colour will be completely random.

We will be contributing a reimagined version of an existing Dead Naked Hippies song for this record, aptly named ‘Come Stay With Me’ in appreciation of our new normal. In this curious situation we have found ourselves in, & in escapism - we have been searching for an alternate existence... far away from our current reality and in that, an alternate version of ourselves. We are excited to share this with you when the time comes around.

We begin 2020 with a big bunch of live dates, supporting the excellent Strange Bones, JOHN & October Drift with some ace fests chucked in there for good measure. Very excited to be heading out on the road again, it all kicks off this coming Saturday. See you there! x

Eyes Wide is for the outsiders, the pieces that don’t quite fit the puzzle, those growing up & growing wiser but not by societal norms or expectation, instead blossoming in their own beautiful way. For those making their own shapes, decisions, words and waves in their own time & seeing the world through their own eyes. I’m not the person the child or the teenage me thought I would be, or should be by expectation. No shame. Eyes Wide is a total celebration of it.

I think we vastly underestimate the power of appreciating ourselves. Our society is fixated on the idea of fast living, dissatisfaction & disposing, spending money on so called self improvement or things we think will make us happy. Its easy to get caught up without taking time to look at who we are without it and what it really means to be alive in a primal sense. Rare is about self love, appreciation and acceptance, looking past the superficial BS, particularly in accepting and learning to love yourself when struggling with your mental health. If you’re suffering you 100% shouldn’t feel ashamed, and in those moments you need try to love yourself more than ever. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Be kind to yourself.
