John Dylan Milton If there were such a thing as ‘English Midlands Musical Magic’ (and there is!) Mr Dave is an Wizard of it, every bit as capable and as genius as the Titans he has worked alongside. Make no mistake... under a microscope, you would see musical notes in this man’s blood… and his heartbeat is their rhythm. He is up there with the best of them. Lyricist, Melodicist; if I had to sum him up in two words, they would be: “You Bastard!” Now, that’s a cheeky and friendly Scouse euphemism for: “I’m arse over tit lovingly envious of your genius and can’t believe how you can conjure and hit every perfect note and have scheduled each and every one of them to attend my utter amazement to behear, as exquisitely as this universe was created, to host such divinity and those souls gifted to manifest — You Bastard — You have done it again! Thank You!”! And am I wrong, there is an Fender Strat of some antiquitous quality being used to an ‘I’ve got to hear that again’ effect; not enjoyed to this degree since Dylan’s ‘Street Legal’, Lord, I love that sound... Dave, and all whom’ve contributed to this already classic album, don’t make mistakes — they have already ascended to Perfect. And that inspires others to feel better. The Mastership has got to be bought and believed!
Jan-Willem van Aalst 15 AUG 2019 I would again like to congratulate you with an extremely creative collection of inspiring little gems! It's quite obvious that the timeless flame of the true composer burns brightly within you, and boy, you have such talent for doing what you do, bringing some light into a world that seems weary and worn, and much in need of the inspiration such as you manifest. Almost every track has some surprise in store that nestles itself very pleasantly in awareness especially 'Drive on to Moscow' lingers. And I'll admit that I was especially interested in "Lookout on the horizon", since I'm such a fan of Richard Tandy... your musicianship / talent has such a unique quality in its own right that you really do not need any support from anything associated with ELO...Your music, by definition, finds it way - and will continue to find its way - to exactly those who are meant to hear it. And who could ask for more?... and I hope the world will continue to experience your musical healing for a long time to come!
